About Me.

Picture of Oregon forest

Where Am I From?

I have lived in the City of Salem in Oregon's amazing Willamette Valley all my life and I love it, rain and all.

Oregon

I love all the types of places in Oregon.

Our coast isn't what you imagine when you think of the coast usually.  We do have sunny beaches, but the water is pretty cold most of the year since our coastal water comes down from Alaska along the west coast of North America (it takes until mid-California for it to warm up enough for most people to swim in).

We have three mountain ranges (The Coastal Range and Cascade Range that frame the Willamette Valley, and the rest of the Rockies start at the eastern edge of the state).  Between the Cascade Range and the Rocky Mountains is the majority of the state, a high desert that turns to forest toward the southern edge.

Hobbies and Things

Art

I am an artist. I have preferred pencils, pens, and wax, but I have been known to do watercolor as well.

For a while I have been working with color on the computer. I am now also practicing with sketching and inking on the computer.

My art was originally anime-inspired, but I have drifted further from that style as time passes. Most of my art content is fantasy or science fiction, but I have done all sorts of things, including tattoos (though I don't have one myself).

Role-playing Games

Role-playing games (RPGs) are equal parts stress relief, temporary escape, creative outlet, lens into others beliefs and opinions.

RPGs have been much-maligned (especially in the 1970s and 1980s, especially Dungeons & Dragons) like many other things that people have pushed their outside views as fact and representation of an entire hobby and industry.  The facts of those situations repeatedly proved those views as false.  Context is King.

I involve myself in a number of role-playing games as a creator, gamemaster and player.  Several of these games you can find elsewhere on this site (listed current to historical).

Music

I love music. I've never been really good, but I have been pretty good to ok with a lot.  I sing and also play (in order of preference and skill) French horn, tuba, trumpet, flute, piano, and trombone.

I take my hand at arranging music moderately often, and occasionally even compose my own.

I like almost all kinds of music but tend to decide on a song by song, or creator basis.

In high school I was in symphonic and marching band and choir.  During this time (late 80s to early 90s) I was exposed to so many different types of music, and always seek to explore new types and interpretations.

Computers and Technology

Computers. I build, troubleshoot, tweek, use and play with computers. I have a general love for technology that improves quality of life, exposes truth and encourages fun.

Collections

I collect music, movies, Transformers and other things that intertest me.
